Ampuism, An Adjective

Zunar, January 2, 2020.

When racism's extreme threats and exploitation take over, out jumps the brain and with it go common sense, rationality, spirit, and dialogue.

Zunar, Ampuism, November 22, 2019.
When political leaders are considered holy and never questioned,
it is a waste of intellect: The mind is not used,
the soul is not independent, and feudalism increased.

Zunar is as fierce as ever if not more so now that the corrupt former Prime Minister and future jailbird Najib Razak is a thing of the past cartooningwise.

So too is the honeymoon that marked the relief of Najib's fall from power. Zunar is uncovering another aspect of corruption; this time of corrupt political culture inciting racism. Racism is undermining all levels of Malaysian society. The educational system for one, notably at the universities where the practice of which groups within the population get to receive scholarships or not is creating for a fundamental societal injustice reaching far into times to come.

Leadership needs to be challenged now as before. Practices and decisions have origins to be uncovered to their bare roots where they shall be questioned. Ampuism, i.e. being blindly supportive, is a serious offence to the brain leading to its demise from lack of use.
Zunar, I will step down he he he, January 6, 2020.
"I will step down when the country is stable..."
and so he is provoking racial tension.
Zunar, Cabinet Reshuffle. Who should go? November 21, 2019.

Zunar is tackling the inflation of racism head on in a literal sense. The present Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, is drawn "hook nosed" according to his stupid anti-Jewish remarks. Let the racist be seen and all attention stay on him. For one, his half cut off eyes on his forehead enhances his scheme hatching. His staying in power is not a necessity; we see how it is another mechanism to his own end.

On the fifth anniversary of the five cartoonists murdered at Charlie Hebdo, their murders remain an open wound in cartooning, representing the reality their colleagues are facing every day.

Face it they do.

Zunar is fighting for citizenship for all Malaysians. A garden needs different flowers and aromas, in his words, and human interaction is no different. If you do not understand your fellow humans, that is ok, but you must accept them for who they are. First and last there is no such thing as an unsurmountable task, even one with long roots such as racism. Change is possible, as he stated in an interview:

"we are one citizen, we can do this, we can progress".
